As a fledgling publishing house, we're always on the lookout for talented authors, illustrators and designers–especially from the Middle East. We love all things quirky and whimsical but we also have a soft spot for the deliciously dark.
We accept submissions in Arabic and English.
Fiction: We're looking for characters and stories that are engaging and original, wacky and wonderful.
Non-fiction: We think exploring the world around us–everything from the seismic to the miniscule, the extraordinary to the everyday–can be such eye-opening fun!
Our children's books are very visual. We believe pictures are just as important as words in creating an engrossing universe for our readers. If you're only submitting text, don't worry; we can match the right illustrator to your story.
Our readers are toddlers to preteens, with discerning taste.
Please submit manuscripts and portfolios to hello@luqoom.com, with a brief cover letter telling us a bit about who you are and your previous writing/illustrating experience. If you don't have much, that's ok; we value passion and talent as much as experience.
Picture books/books for younger kids: Submit the entire manuscript in Word, and any sample illustrations in JPEG or PDF format.
Chapter books: Submit three chapters in Word format.
Illustrators: Send your portfolio as a PDF file.
